The Athens Bar Association (“DSA”) has released a written memorandum declaring the recent Greek general election as void, out of date and hints of illegality, as apparently the elections were not based on the recent 2011 census, but a census over a decade out of date. Yeah, that’s how criminal our figureheads are.
Under government rules, census statistics are used when the numbers are at least one year or more and in this case, the National Committee of Statistics of Greece (“ELSTAT”) completed its census on May 24, 2011, meaning that the election was utilizing old district numbers, implying that the results could be quite different.
“An extremely serious constitutional failure has occurred, as we estimate that substantial changes have occurred in the population distribution in every constituency in comparison with the previous census of 2001. Not only the redistribution of the parliamentary seats in every constituency but also the redefinition of parliamentary representation of every party, is possibly at risk. In view of all the above, the DSA expresses its deep institutional concern regarding the risk of an acute constitutional crisis which is expected to cause damage to the function of the democratic institutions” according to the Athens Bar Association.
In other words, in whatever way it can, the lawyers are saying the election is a fraud and the government of Greece is falling into dangerous territory by not respecting laws apparently made by the people.
Moreover, the DSA is also critical of ELSTAT for its overstatement of Greek deficits which ultimately led to the imposition of austerity and other measures on the Greek people.
For as much slack the lawyers get in society, there are still some decent ones out there. Heck, we may be nothing more than admiralty lawyers deluded into believing we practice in courts of equity, but many of us still believe in the US constitution, natural law, natural and inherent rights and human decency.
Also, since we’re on this topic, I apologize to a few clients for charging the way I charge years ago – even though it was a “standard price”, I’ve come to realize that clients are the reason why I practice law, and all too often I deferred to money. I know it’s Friday night and no, I don’t drink.
Story is HERE.
I think there’s some very powerful hands that are beyond that of the Queen/Pope/bankers, which would explain why this house of cards is holding up so well, but do not doubt for one second that this house of cards is crumbling. Whistleblowers are coming forward, protests are growing, people are waking up and not returning to their regularly scheduled programming.
Despite talk of war with Iran it has died down, even in Syria, where apparently war is now “guaranteed”, there’s still other news stories coming out throwing a wrench into the war talk proceedings with news of US agencies funding the Syrian rebels.
The young generation is rising up in something now called the Freedom Movement. There was no such talk of such a movement uttered years ago, but is now increasingly becoming commonplace.
Statistics also show that more and more people are abandoning their hypnotic television sets, and are increasingly going to alternative news sites for information because they know they’re not being properly informed.
My friends, things are changing. You are part of this change. Never forget that. There have been so many days where I just ask myself why a certain individual hasn’t yet been arrested, considering all the obvious crimes that are apparent and open to the public. However, the more I think about it, the more hope I see.
Stay resolute. Spread the message. We’re all in this together and we’ll stand together. You can do it.
